Once you are heard, understood and accepted as you are things can change for the better. As we work together, you may feel freer, calmer, able to face the future with hope.
Call, text or email me to arrange a no-strings, free initial session to find out if I’m the right counsellor for you. I’ll respond to your query within 24 hours.
Working through your grief and loss
The sudden death of someone you love. The diagnosis of a life-threatening illness. Losing your job. Such life events shatter the illusions of our safe everyday lives. At first, you might feel numb with shock or overwhelmed.
You might even think you’re going mad. In the calm, safe space of the counselling relationship, I help you work through the pain of your grief and loss. People sometimes find that counselling helps them not only to adjust to a life-changing event, but also to grow in surprising and positive ways.
Supporting your relationships
Conflict, betrayal, boredom and the stresses of modern life can drive our relationships to breaking point.
In my work with couples, I provide a safe, non-judgemental space to help you to communicate in an honest and non-blaming way. Here you will identify the issues in your partnership before you commit to exploring and addressing these together in greater depth and in ways that help you to reconnect.
In my work with individuals, I help you to address the difficulties in your current or past relationships. You may want to heal and move forward after years in an abusive relationship. Alternatively, you may wish to change the negative patterns of behaviour in how you relate to others. Above all, I help you to explore arguably the most important relationship in your life – the one you have with yourself.
Overcoming your stress, depression and anxiety
Do you feel overwhelmed by the pressures in your life? Do you feel unease, worry or dread? Or maybe you have lost all interest and feel low? A modicum of stress is helpful, too much can be debilitating. Similarly, anxiety is a normal, common response, but can become a problem if it limits your life. It’s normal to feel sad or unhappy, but a low mood that lasts weeks could be depression.
I work with you to understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, how you experience yourself. Self-awareness is often key to understanding how and why we feel stressed, anxious or depressed. It can also be a good starting point to make changes in your life that are more attuned to your needs.
