From the end of October, I will be re-opening my therapy room for clients who prefer counselling sessions to be delivered in-person.
I expect that most of my clients will continue to prefer the convenience and cost benefits of working either via Zoom or telephone. But I recognise that for some clients, working remotely is not an option.
In preparation for this change, I’ve conducted a risk assessment of my therapy cabin to ensure I have in place measures to control the spread of Covid-19. My priority will be to keep clients and myself safe.
Coronovirus disease is an infectious disease which spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge form the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
If you elect to have counselling in-person, I will discuss with you how the session will work, for example:
No-one will be allowed into my therapy cabin apart from myself and the client
I will provide you with bacterial gel on entering the therapy cabin
Clients will need to provide their own refreshments (e.g., water) and tissues
Social distancing will be always adhered to
Seating will be placed a minimum of two metres apart and will not be directly in line
I will wash my hands before and after each session
I will also clean all touch points (chairs, door, etc) after each session and at the end of the day
I will aim to provide comfortable room temperature for sessions while keeping the room well ventilated between each session
I will not be able to provide toilet facilities
Appointments
Should I develop a high temperature or a persistent cough while at work, I will:
- Cancel or reschedule appointments
- Arrange a Covid test
- Suspend all in-person appointments until I have had a negative result or have completed a period of self-isolation
Clients are asked not to attend in-person appointments where they have any Covid-related symptoms, are feeling unwell or have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive. I no longer charge for late notice cancellations.
I am double jabbed and intend to take up the booster jab when it is offered. I will not be using face masks while working but have no objection to clients using face masks or shields if they so wish.
